Education and Health Promotion: Health Services works in collaboration with Residence Life to promote Health and Wellness in the Residence Halls. Through health programs and education, we assist students to maintain their health in order to succeed in their college experiences.

Nurses on Wheels (N.O.W.) is a program where the nurses from Health Services bring educational health programs to the Residence Halls.

Residence Life Health Requirements:

Because students in the residence halls live close together, the risk of acquiring and spreading disease is higher than in the general population.

  • Verification of MMR vaccination or positive blood tests proving immunity to the Measles, Mumps, & Rubella
  • Meningitis Vaccine - recommended - Vaccine date within 10 years or a signed waiver declining the vaccine - click here for more information
  • Proof of Health Insurance - students who live in MCC's Residence Halls are required to have health insurance.
  • Illness/Injury Response: It is recommended that students living away from home be prepared to respond to emergency situations

Confidentiality :Your medical care and counseling at Monroe Community College Health Services are confidential. Health care records are kept separately from academic records. We do not release information outside of Monroe Community College without your written permission, except upon a court order, as required by law (as in the case of certain communicable diseases and reports of child abuse), or as required, in our judgment, to protect you or others from immediate physical danger.
