MCC Scholarships

Monroe Community College offers a variety of scholarships for full-time and part-time students, based on academic performance, degree program, and/or financial need. To download a complete listing of MCC Scholarships and procedures on how to apply, click here. Please note that some scholarships may have deadline dates by which to apply. Please check with the contact person(s) on departments listed with the scholarships regarding deadline dates.

* Please note, student MUST file a 2011-12 FAFSA before applying for the MCC General Scholarships.

Thompson Family Scholarship:
The Thompson Family Scholarship Fund was established by a 1964 graduate of Monroe Community College and his wife to help motivated but needy students complete their studies at MCC. To download the scholarship brochure and application, click here. Please note that the Thompson Family Scholarship application and FAFSA must be received by the MCC Financial Aid Office by Monday, May 9, 2011. Scholarship winners will be notified by June 15, 2011.

John and Mary Koch Liberal Arts Scholarship:
John and Mary Koch Liberal Arts Scholarship Fund was established by a former MCC employee to help motivated and needy full time liberal arts students to overcome financial difficulty and continue their education MCC. This scholarship can be used toward any cost of education expense. The award amount could vary between $500 and $2000 per student and the award will go to approximately 30 students each year.

STUDENT AWARD CRITERIA:

  • Liberal Arts Student at MCC
  • Full Time
  • Unique challenge to attend MCC
  • Limited other financial resources
  • No other assistance available for this request
  • Must maintain 3.0 GPA

Award selections will be made by the John and Mary Koch Liberal Arts Scholarship Committee. Applicants must file a 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit this 2011-2012 John and Mary Koch Liberal Arts Scholarship Application by Monday, May 9, 2011. Scholarship winners will be notified by June 15, 2011.
