Child Care Grants and Subsidies

CCAMPIS Grant:

The Richard M. Guon Child Care Center can assist eligible MCC student parents with their child care costs. The Department of Education awarded the child care center a $717,364 CCAMPIS Grant, (Child Care Access Means Parents in School) in 2009 to spend down over four years. The purpose of the CCAMPIS Grant is to support the participation of low-income parents in post-secondary education through the provision of campus-based child care services.

Pell-eligible students may qualify for a subsidy of up to $2,560 a semester to cover the cost of child care for an infant, toddler or preschooler at our nationally accredited center, located in Building 22 on the Brighton Campus.

SUNY Block Grant:

The Richard M. Guon Child Care Center also receives funds through SUNY specifically targeted to reduce the cost of child care for low-income students. The amount available each year is based on the New York state budget. Applications for this money are available through the child care business office at the time of acceptance into the program. For information on how to apply, please call 585-292-2640.
