MCC wins another regional title

ROCHESTER - The MCC women's soccer team captured its 13th consecutive Region III championship and 24th overall, defeating Mercyhurst North East 6-0 Saturday afternoon.

The Tribunes (15-4-1) now move on to the District G tournament, with a berth in the NJCAA Division I national tournament on the line.

Brittani Bove (Marion, NY/Marion) scored twice in a span of two minutes and 44 seconds to break a scoreless tie late in the first half.  Bove was named tournament Most Valuable Player.

Catherine Mucha (Nunda, NY/Keshequa) made it 3-0 just before the break, converting a header from Alison Campbell (Marion, NY/Marion).

Mucha then helped put the game away in the second half, scoring twice more to finish with the hat trick.  Kim Clark (York, NY/York) tacked on Monroe's final goal as the team celebrated yet another regional title.

Annie Terilli (Brockport, NY/Brockport) added two assists, and Karly Tolentino (Greece, NY/Greece Odyssey) and Andrea Seeger (Rochester, NY/Bishop Kearney) had one apiece for the Tribunes.

Chloe Crook (London, England/Holy Family) and Hannah Conine (Livonia, NY/Livonia) combined to make one save to register the shutout.
