Galvano gets No. 100 as MCC prevails

ALFRED, NY - MCC women's soccer coach Sal Galvano picked up his 100th career victory as the Lady Tribunes defeated Alfred State 1-0 in overtime Thursday evening.

Galvano is now 56-18-2 in four years with Monroe.  He also won 44 games with Cedar Valley College (Lancaster, Tex.).  MCC moved to 11-4-1 with the win.

The match was tight throughout and was scoreless after regulation.  The Tribunes struck for the game-winner late in the first overtime period, as Shauna Eccles (Dublin, Ireland/Larkin) scored off a pass from Brittani Bove (Marion, NY/Marion).

Hannah Conine (Livonia, NY/Livonia) had a big game in goal for Monroe.  The sophomore keeper stopped 10 shots to register the shutout.
