MCC swimmers win Erie CC Invite
ROCHESTER - The MCC men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned first-place finishes at the Erie CC Invitational over the weekend.
The Tribune ladies finished with 656 points. Jamestown was second with 242. On the men's side, MCC finished with 650 points, while runner-up Genesee had 332. Complete team scores are listed below.
Jennifer Conklin (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) was a triple-winner for the Monroe women. The sophomore won the 400 IM (5:07.57), the 500 free (5:36.74), and the 1650 free (18:34.69).
Alaiya Tuntemeke (South Lima, NY/Livonia) captured the 1-meter (227.50) and 3-meter (187.45) diving events for Monroe. Also, Marguerite Zaepfel (Gasport, NY/Barker) placed first in the 50 free (25.65) and the 100 free (56.21).
Other winners were Ashley Wumkes (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) in the 200 free (2:09.33), Ariel McDowell (Rush, Ny/Rush-Henrietta) in the 200 fly (2:33.11), and Jordan Hess (Victor, NY/Victor) in the 200 breast (2:56.18).
Tore Hansen (Skoutianten, Denmark/Handelsskolen) won twice for the men. The freshman took first in the 500 free (4:59.02) and the 1650 free (17:33.98). Other winners included Taylor Stewart (Owego, NY/Owego Free) in the 200 free (1:54.63) and Connor Kilmer (Auburn, NY/auburn) in the 100 free (50.11).
