MCC rallies to tie Genesee

ROCHESTER - The MCC men's soccer team twice erased deficits and tied Genesee CC at 2 in a contest at John L. DiMarco Field Wednesday.

The Tribunes moved to 2-1-1 on the season.

The Cougars went ahead on a goal in the 19th minute.  Monroe battled back to tie it at one six minutes later, as Adriano Negri (Vancouver, BC/Templeton) scored off a feed from Cody Winter (North Rose, NY/North Rose-Wolcott).

Genesee went ahead again in the 28th minute and carried that 2-1 lead into the break.

The Tribunes responded again early in the second half.  Winter controlled the ball and sent it to Abe Barry (Henrietta, NY/Greece Olympia), who beat the keeper to the ball.  Barry then lifted the ball over the keeper and into the back of the net for the equalizer.

The score remained tied through regulation and two 10-minute overtimes.

Vinnie Cainth (London, England/Albany) played the final 65 minutes, allowing no goals and making six saves.
