MCC wins twice over weekend
ROCHESTER - The MCC ice hockey team returned from its winter break with a pair of victories over the weekend.
The Tribunes defeated Syracuse Jr. A 5-1 Friday and Mohawk Valley CC 10-1 Saturday. Top-ranked MCC is now 17-1 on the season.
Five different players lit the lamp Friday. Willy Manchester (Long Beach, NY/Long Beach) came through with the game-winner midway through the third period for MCC. Tom Dehr (Varysburg, NY/Batavia Notre Dame) made 42 saves in goal.
Erich Haney (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee), Zach Lewis (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee), Max Hedenbergh (Gothenburg, Sweden/Goteborgs Hogre), and Mike Boyd (Vancouver, BC/Sullivan Heights) also scored.
Haney, Dan Turgeon (Centennial, CO/Cherokee Trail), and Connor Smith (Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) all had two goals in the win over Mohawk Saturday.
Manchester, Dan Going (Wilton, NY/Saratoga Springs), TJ Reilley (Rome, NY/Rome Free), and Matt Anticoli (Blasdell, NY/Frontier) all scored as well.
