MCC golfers in lead after day one

CHAUTAUQUA, NY - The Monroe Community College golf team began its national title defense in fine fashion Tuesday, finishing the opening round with a one-stroke lead at Chautauqua Golf Course.

The Tribunes finished with a team score of 304, one stroke ahead of Nassau CC.  Cincinnati State is in third place at 311.

Ben Finn (Macedon, NY/Gananda) is in second place individually after firing an even-par 72.  He is two strokes behind Chris Ferraro of SUNY Ulster.

Tyler Phillips (Williamson, NY/Williamson) is fifth on the leaderboard after a two-over 74.
