MCC golfers build lead after day two
CHAUTAUQUA, NY - The MCC golf team is half way to a second consecutive NJCAA Division III national championship.
The Tribunes fired a team score of 303 in the second round at Chautauqua Golf Course Wednesday to build their lead to four strokes over second-place Nassau CC.
Monroe is at 607 after two rounds, with Nassau at 611. Rock Valley CC is third at 612.
A trio of 75s helped MCC on day two. Ben Finn (Macedon, NY/Gananda) carded one of them and is second overall individually at three over par.
Tyler Phillips (Williamson, NY/Williamson) and Matt DeJohn (Geneva, NY/Geneva) also shot 75s, while Tim McCall (Baldwinsville, NY/CW Baker) shot a 78.
The national tournament continues Thursday with the third round.
