MCC golfers take lead into final round
CHAUTAUQUA, NY - The MCC golf team is just one round away from a second straight NJCAA Division III national championship.
The Tribunes fired a team score of 309 Thursday to build their lead to eight strokes over second-place Rock Valley College. Rock Valley had a 312 Thursday.
The national tournament concludes Friday with the final round.
Matt DeJohn (Geneva, NY/Geneva) paced Monroe with a 1-over par 73. Ben Finn (Macedon, NY/Gananda) fired a 76, while Tyler Phillips (Williamson, NY/Williamson) had a 78.
Tim McCall (Baldwinsville, NY/CW Baker) wrapped up the MCC scoring with an 82.
